Following Andy Jenkins, I joined the Kartra Beta Test program in 2017. Since then I have been using the all-in-one business platform for myself and my clients since 2018. It was pretty good in the Beta program and has continued to improve and expand since then. This is my overview of Kartra and why I still love it.

Email Sequences in Kartra

Sequences are a great way to send a series of emails over time when people signup for or purchase something. You can save emails as a template and clone the sequence to reuse components.

Interactive Quizzes and Surveys

After long anticipation, Kartra recently add surveys and quizzes to the mix.

Can it replace services like Typeform, Interact, and Bucket.io?

That will depend on what you are doing with the other services.

My first impression is that Karta has done a good job with this and the integration and automation make it a great addition for Kartra users.

The Sales Funnel That Sold Me! Let’s Sell Your Products!

I could lose quite a few pounds and subscribe to a number of health email lists.

I opened an email titled “do this in the morning.”

Here is part of the short email.

The trick is knowing what exercises to do, and in what order, based on your age and body type…

Clicking led to the following journey:

An online ‘Quiz’ about my eating and exercise habits.
A long-form sales page that had buttons to go to another page.
There were perhaps thirty such pages of engaging copywriting in the series.
An offer for access to the main eBook and many related bonus eBooks.
The value of the offer was well established by this point and $20 seemed nearly free for the potential benefits.
The thank-you page had a video with scrumptious descriptions and a suggestion for tasty healthy recipes.
The access area also had additional offers.
What I received for my purpose far exceeded my expectations.
I am receiving follow-up emails with more bonus content.

Let’s Review The Funnel

Here are the parts:

Email
Ask-style Quiz.
Mobile-friendly long-form sales pages (I was viewing them on my iPhone).
Irresistible Offer.
Video welcome and upsell.
Easy access to content.
More offers.
Follow-up email address.

Money Considerations

Some of you may be thinking that this is an awful lot of work to sell something for $20!

Say the campaign cost $10K to design, write, and implement. There will also be some affiliate commissions and likely some paid advertising.

I am going to speculate that this campaign is generating thousands of sales a day.

1,000 sales at $20 is $20,000 a day, $600,000 a month, and $7,300,000 a year gross sales.

Not too shabby.

Affiliate and Other Promotions

The email with the link was sent to me by an affiliate of the offer.

I would bet that there could be thousands of other affiliates also mailing to their lists.

And posting in blogs and social media.

And using paid ads.

Also video on YouTube.

And other strategies to get people into the sales funnel.

Kartra for Conversion and Courses ~ The Kartra Whisperer

I have used Kartra since it was in Beta testing in 2017. It was quite good in Beta and has grown a lot since then.

Other similar platforms include Kajabi, New Zenler, ClickFunnels, and Go High Level. They offer overlapping feature sets with unique strengths.

Depending on your personal and professional goals, Kartra stands up well to all of these platforms.

Kartra Features

I have used most of the features either for myself, including:

Landing Pages
You can achieve an astonishing range of looks with the built-in templates and components.
Payment Processing
I often joke that ‘Kartra’ is some Far Eastern Goddess of Commerce.
You can configure a wide range of payment options and coupon support to fit special offers and unique billing situations. The automatic downloadable payment receipts and flexibility for partial and complete refunds make Kartra great for transactions.
Courses and Memberships
Kartra calls an online content repository a Membership. Whether you call it an online course or membership is mostly about whether you charge one-time or by subscription.
The Memberships support a wide range of content types and ten levels of access. It is very mobile-friendly too, making it better than most mobile apps that have a limited number of content options.
Video
Kartra has a video platform with the ability to embed in emails, online courses, and on landing and website pages. Also good for sharing videos with others.
Email Broadcasts and Sequences
The marketers making the most money will be the ones who are the most consistent and deliberate in their use of email. Kartra has all of the tools yu need for simple broadcasts to formatted newsletters to elaborate email sequences.
Surveys and Quizzes
It took a few years to add this feature. Worth the wait. You can do simple intake surveys, exams, and now a version they call a Personality quiz to do Ask-style quizzes. The integration with other Kartra features and analytics makes this a very powerful addition.
Calendar
There is a capable and versatile calendar system for many uses.
Affiliate Support
The Affiliate and JV Partner support in Kartra is fabulous and a great way to generate traffic and sales.
Help Desk
Kartra supports a help desk system with a wiki, support ticket system, customer self-billing service, and support for live agents. This can help your company look very professional.

All in all, Kartra provides most of the tools needed to grow a very large company.
